Voila! Clad in gossamer garments speaking of their statuses as servants, they are a docile paradox, silent rebellion standing beside the Sultanas and the favored concubines of the Sultan. Their life here is defined by the precarious dance between loyalty and favored shade; every hopeful step may spell never-ending servitude, or, perhaps, only with one lucky strike by the Sultan or one of his princes, they would bear an heir. The contradiction in the character's persona brings out an empire-from the topmost level of the council to the sneaky gossip of the harem-as their roles change.
